Our groves, the KOTINOS groves, are located in the southeastern region of Crete, the southernmost point of Europe. KOTINOS groves have trees that range in age from hundreds of years old to young trees. The hilly terrain makes farming a challenge but it also provides the best possible environment for the cultivation of our olive trees. The climate in our region is characterized by hot and dry summers with cool autumn followed by rainy winter months. In the spring the cool see breezes, which all of our groves experience, are ideal for the flowering and the pollination of the trees. We follow traditional pruning techniques, starting when the trees are only two years old, and are so able to maintain a fairly constant production from year to year.
